Hazel & Helm exists for the moment a business realizes the way it has always worked is making the next stage harder. We help owners and operations leaders decide what should change, build the right improvement, and make it usable by the people who will live with it.

Why this company exists

New options. A new set of choices.

AI gives growing businesses a new set of options. It also gives them another set of choices to make without a dedicated department: Which work is worth changing? Which data is safe to use? Who checks the output? What will people actually adopt?

Those are business and operational questions as much as technical ones. Hazel & Helm was built to answer them in the course of real implementation.

Meet the founder

Meet Sara.

I’ve spent about 15 years in web technology and digital operations, taking work from discovery and scoping through coordination, implementation, and launch. Much of that time has been spent translating between the people who need a business outcome and the people building the systems behind it.

What I’ve learned: a feature can be technically impressive and still make an ordinary Tuesday harder. The work succeeds when someone owns it, the people using it understand it, and it fits the realities of the business.

That is the perspective I bring to AI. I’m not presenting myself as a machine-learning researcher. I lead the business assessment, shape the implementation, and stay accountable for the result. When specialist engineering is needed, I bring in the appropriate expertise.

I live in Maine. I like direct answers and a useful plan more than a dazzling demonstration that nobody wants to maintain.
